WHAT CAN AI DO FOR YOU?
By Zunzeiry Melendez
Technology has adapted to its newfound home here on this planet. It has created jobs, communities, and everyday appliances we use in our kitchen. But there is one piece of technology that we have adapted to, which is Artificial Intelligence. With humans, animals, and most of everything else we create life alongside with, AI has pros and cons, different for everyone. Let us play a game, called two truths, one lie, and in the end, the answer is revealed.
AI can indeed create Visual Art. You may have already come across tens of AI generated visual art, that you may have not known was AI. But many have asked, is it art if created by AI, and not with the passion of the artist behind it? This up to a conversation, whether controversial or biased, AI will create any visually appealing look to a picture you'd like it to. Is this a truth or a lie? This is indeed a truth.
Doctors study for years to learn about mental illnesses that develop over the course of life, how diseases affect specific age groups, but guess what has been found to be helpful in the clinic, it is AI. AI has learned to be quite dominant in the medical field, developed to be by the doctors side, and come up with a diagnosis. AI is used to scan, receive patient data, and help identify subtle mishaps that the human eye cannot always detect or may miss. AI is used as an assistant, mostly prone to breaking down data, and potential issues, which can create new effective treatment plans for patients. Is this a truth or a lie? It is indeed a truth.
Now, how can this be fun, if we already have our two truths, and only one lie left? That is because life itself, cannot be AI generated or created by any form of technology with real humane parts. Can AI feel human emotions and be creative? It indeed cannot. AI can be useful in many ways, two we have already established, but it cannot feel empathy, feel sympathy, or create conversations for you with real people. It may be on your plate to find decent conversations between you and another person with a robot, but I believe many of us are interested in having real conversations with real people.
